Although Honduras has undergone very strong blows in its coffee production recently (hurricanes ETA and IOTA), this origin is not left behind thanks to its history, people, harmony with the environment and the diversity of its high-quality coffees.
At Belco, we are conscious that we always have to be one foot ahead in promoting a more environmentally friendly production, and that is the reason why the coffees from Honduras presented in this edition of Les Primeurs are all organic.
Here are a few words on each supplier we have in this country, starting with COCASAM. This cooperative has the peculiarity of being the only one in the municipality of San Marcos de Colón covering 100% of all the coffees of the producers of this region. Then, let’s talk about Montecillos, located in the Municipality of Marcala, which is known as the best coffee in Honduras and the only mountain range with a denomination of origin in the country.
We shall then present coffees made by long-term Belco partners: Don Tacho, María Dolores Zelaya or Betty's Clave de Sol farm, managed through a system of both biodynamic agriculture and pranic practices. We shall then tell the story of the RAOS cooperative - the pioneers of organic agriculture in Honduras - and finish with CADEXSA, in the north of the country.
→ How much history, tradition and quality conveyed by the aromas and flavors of these coffees! Enjoy this origin!
